MAN UNITED DEFENDER Eric Bailly is set to be sidelined for up to three months as he prepares to undergo surgery for a ‘serious’ ankle injury.
The Ivory Coast player has not featured for United since defeat to Chelsea at the start of November, after suffering the ankle problem while on international duty.

United boss Jose Mourinho revealed after Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Bournemouth that it was a ‘serious injury,’ and has since confirmed that surgery will be required for the centre-back.
Bailly goes to surgery, the decision is made. I don’t say (he’s out) for the rest of the season but it’s for the next two or three months.
“But now we have (Phil) Jones back and we have (Chris) Smalling, even (Daley) Blind, so it’s a position we have good cover in but of course we’ll miss the player.”
Bailly was previously ruled out for over a month last season after sustaining a knee ligament injury in October last year.

Speaking to MUTV ahead of their upcoming Premier League clash against West Brom, Mourinho explained:
